Clinging Spark

Action · 60 ft · V, S, M (a scrap of wool rubbed on amber) · Concentration, up to 1 minute

Action, 60 ft, concentration up to 1 minute. A ranged spell attack: 2d6 lightning on a hit (+1d6 per slot above 1st), and a spark clings to the target. At the start of each of your later turns it bites on its own while you can see its carrier within 60 ft — 1d6 lightning, then 2d6, then 3d6 as it grows; out of sight or out of range it skips the bite and shrinks back to one. When its carrier drops, the spark leaps to the nearest creature hostile to you within 15 ft and keeps its strength.
